IT STARTS WITH YOU
At Stylite we start with you. Design2Fit is the concept – the wheelchair must adapt to what our clients need as opposed to making the clients adapt to standard chairs. Many of our existing products have evolved from a design idea originally presented by a client.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM
Moulding a seat to fit the user size is all part of the normal business at Stylite, but when clients arrive for initial measurements, we often get to hear about additional problems they face.
The problem: A mum explained that every time she went to push her child’s wheelchair across the road, he would get nervous and automatically reach out to catch the wheel, stopping the chair. She worried that he would hurt his hands and it also made crossing roads very difficult for her!
The solution: Stylite designed a separate wheel system that mum could click down for use when crossing roads. It automatically lifted the main wheels up and out of action so that when her child caught them, it didn’t stop the forward motion of the wheelchair and didn’t catch his hands. Problem solved!
